Virginia Orange: A Versatile, Red-Shifted Fluorescein Scaffold for Single- and Dual-Input Fluorogenic Probes

Former Chemistry undergrad, Jon Grimm, now a senior scientist at the Janelia campus of the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, just published a paper about a new dye he’s named Virginia Orange! A friend of his, Matt Schiffler, also a UVA Chemistry graduate and medicinal chemist at Eli Lilly and Company, asked on Facebook, “I assume Cavalier Blue is next”?
