Advanced Biological Chemistry II is the second semester of a graduate sequence in biochemistry. The course will cover three general topics: 1) Molecular assembly in biological systems, including proteins and membranes; 2) Energy flow with discussions of oxidative phosphorylation and photosynthesis, and 3) Cellular signaling, and the role of receptors and second messengers.
