Jason Liao

Jason attended Livingston High School in Livingston, NJ. He is pursuing a B Sc. in Chemistry with a specialization in biochemistry and American Chemical Society Certification. His research is with Professor Kyle Hoehn in the Department of Pharmacology.

He has been working in the Hoehn research group since August 2011. He has worked on multiple projects. One project investigated the role of the mitochondrial permeability transition pore by determining downstream metabolic effects of knocking out cyclophilin D in mice. Another project involved investigating metabolic enzyme activities and the metabolic profile of mice lacking acetyl-carboxylases 1 & 2 in the liver. His thesis project is to investigate the metabolic effects of knocking out lipid phosphate phosphohydrolase 1 in mice.
